Inspiration from Sports Flicks

It seems like all children have an infatuation for certain movies, and these films are often watched with pious regularity. When I was growing up, the movies that I loved the most centered on sports, The Sandlot, Little Giants, etc. One film still stands out above the rest however: The Mighty Ducks.

Watching that film inspired me to lace up my own youth hockey skates and join a hockey team. I remember emulating Emilio, trying the patented triple-deek in my games, often to no avail. Every once in awhile I will pop in the film to remind me where my love of the game comes from, although I have to admit that it has lost much of it appeal.
