While they are often called by their popular name of Rollerblades, inline skates are used for inline skating. As the name suggests, inline skates have two, three, four or five wheels arranged in a single line setting them apart from other skates which have two front and two rear wheels.
A lot, but not all, inline skates have brakes which are used to slow down while skating. The brake can be located on either the heel or the toe. Learning how to use the heel brake is crucial for all skaters.
